Job Summary.
To provide clinical services and ensure that the hospital meet the requisite health care providers standards. Reporting to the Medical Officer in Charge, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing consultancy and quality clinical judgment to patients in Ambulatory and Emergency Medicine.

Job Description.
• Initial management, stabilization and treatment of patients.
• Rotating in various wards and clinics as assigned.
• Facilitating patient admission and discharge.
• Re-asses and follow up and observe the clinical conditions and progress of patients in the wards.
• Provide medical advice, counselling, health education and control measures to patients in the hospital in order to prevent spread of diseases and injuries.
• Work with other medical staff to solve single or multiple medical issues and/or participate in performing extensive surgical operations in the hospital.
• Implement best practice clinical and patient care related policies and procedures in the outpatient division of the hospital.
• Provide quality emergency medical services to patients in the emergency unit of the hospital.
• Attend to patients’ medical needs, diagnose their illnesses and prescribe medicines and other therapeutic interventions in consultation rooms at the hospital.
• Performing medical and surgical procedures.
• Participate in the strategic planning of the division in collaboration with other medical staff in the unit for significant impact on the performance or business outcome of the hospital and its sub-functions.
• Preparing and responding to emergencies.
• Ensuring patient referral to appropriate specialist/hospital.
• Facilitating customer complaint handling, root cause analysis and problem solving.
• Championing evidence based practice, patient centred care, service excellence and continual improvement.
• Participating in management of medicines, medical instruments and equipment.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and working with professionalism.
• Facilitating Continuous Medical Education sessions and research .
• Counseling patients and their relatives on diagnoses and bereavement.
• Implement the hospital culture of team-base, fact-base and patient-base and work towards achievement of the hospital Vision.
• Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications.
• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB.) degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
• Successfully completed one(1) year Internship in a busy hospital.
• Valid private practice License from the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
• Certificate in Computer Applications skills from a recognized institution.
• Valid certification in BLS, ATLS, ACLS is an added advantage.
• Be in possession of a valid Certificate of good conduct from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Tax compliance certificate and HELB clearance certificate.
