JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking highly motivated Deputy Matrons who will work in collaboration with our Nurse in Charge, consultants and dedicated multi-professional team.

JOB DETAILS

  • Assist the matron in coordinating and facilitating patient care services according to established standards.
  • Coordinate with Head Nurse in liaison with other deputy matrons in development of department goals.
  • Work as a team with other deputy matrons and the nurse in charge to identify areas of improvements and help implement corrective plans.
  • Work with other nurses and guide in providing quality patient care to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Liase with all nurses to ensure hospital policies and procedures are followed.
  • Evaluate patient care activities and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor performance of each nurse and provide feedback.
  • Maintain positive, safe and achievement oriented working environment.
  • coordinate with Head Nurse in management of patient care units.
  • Educate nursing staff on hospital policies and public health laws.
  • Schedule orientation and educational programs for newly hired nurses.
  • Prepare and maintain reports and patient care records.
  • Work with Head Nurse to determine staffing requirements and shift schedules.
  • Any other duty delegated by the head nurse or the relevant authority.
  • supporting the Nurse in Charge in the delivery of high standards of surgical and diagnostic care to all patients, their family and significant others.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in KRCHN or Degree in Nursing from recognized institution.
  • Certificate of Registration from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
  • Valid Practicing license from the NCK.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience as a H.O.D in a private or public hospital.
  • BLS and ACLS certificate is an added advantage.

RADIOGRAPHER

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Radiographer’s main responsibility will be to operate diagnostic equipment e.g. X-ray and Ultrasound to examine patients for an illness or an accident.

JOB DETAILS

  • Provide radiography and imaging services to patient in the radiography and imaging unit of the hospital.
  • Collaborate with other radiography and imaging staff in providing radiography and imaging services to patients in the hospital.
  • Collaborate with other diagnostic and clinical practitioners in the hospital to offer comprehensive medical care to patients.
  • Receive patients referred for imaging services from other medical units and schedule their imaging services in the radiographer unit of the hospital.
  • Provide support and collaboration in the provision of radiography services to staff, interns and students in the Radiography unit of the hospital.
  • Implement radiation safety policies and guidelines for quality and regulated service delivery.
  • Evaluate patient’s medical condition and history to determine most suitable radiographic technique for diagnosis.
  • Interact with patients to offer them psychological support and address their concerns regarding an imaging procedure.
  • Adjust diagnostic equipment to deliver accurate amount of radiation to patients.

Qualifications:

  • Holder of a Diploma in a medical imaging science/ sonography Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC or a recognized institution.
  • A Higher Diploma in Medical imaging Sciences (Ultrasound) from a recognized institution an added advantage.
  • Must be able to perform X-Ray and all Ultrasound examinations.
  • At least two years working experience as Radiographer in a busy hospital.
  • Registered with Radiation Protection Board with valid practice License.
  • Good computer skills and ability to determine correct procedures and perform a variety of clinical imaging
  • Display excellent communication (written and verbal)
